Daniel Lepkoff
His work is focused on everyday movement, the functioning of the body, how we navigate physically and how the mind and the body work together to compose our movement. He is one of the founders of Movement Research in NYC. He has taught and performed at dance centers, including: The Trisha Brown Studios, NYC; The American Dance Festival; P.A.R.T.S.; Tanzfabrik Berlin; Moving Arts Cologne; Bewegungs Art Freiburg and many other.
His work has its roots in early work with Steve Paxton, creating and defining the practice of Contact Improvisation, and with Mary Fulkerson, in the early explorations of developmental movement and anatomical release technique. He has created performance works in collaboration with many other artists such as Lisa Nelson, Steve Paxton, and most recently with Eastern European artists Oleg Soulimenko and Attila Dora.
