The audience i trust. I believe strongly in the spectator’s freedom. I don’t mind, i am not afraid of hir taste or blind enthusiasm (if that could ever be criticized) because i sincerely believe s/he should be as free as possible in hir interpretation. But what will they see?
Neo-minimalism and neo-conceptualism is in fashion right now. Does it mean anything different from this should be frowned upon? When everybody around me thinks that something is avant-garde, i look the other way in search for what might be new. I believe it’s a healthy reflex.


I personally like works that are complex, baroque, abundant and that i would call hence “maximalist.“ But presenters don’t think it is fashionable so they don’t give any visibility to such works. Instead of just looking at what is presented onstage, most presenters put their taste before analysis. I believe that taste is to be undone and renewed at each performance and that analysis helps one becoming more discriminating about the dance in front of us.
