New Dance Education at Sceneindgangen in Copenhagen
Peter Bo Bendixen of the Royal Danish Ballet is the new artistic director of the Pantomime Theatre in Denmark’s world famous Tivoli Gardens entertainment center (www.tivoli.dk). Bendixen was one of the leading interpreters of male roles in Bournonville ballet, and trained under Niels Bjørn Larsen, who was ballet master for the Pantomime Theater from 1956 to 1980.
Sceneindgangen (The Stage Entrance), one of Copenhagen’s newest dance studios, opened here in 2003 and has established itself since as one of Denmark’s premier dance schools, offering a well-rounded dance education program in modern dance, jazz, ballet and musical theater. An independent studio run by Jenny Major and Martin Svaneborg, so far it has managed to secure places for 70 per cent of its graduating students who audition for professional dance academies such as the Gothenburg Ballet Academy and Performing Arts School in Sweden, the Danish National School of Contemporary Dance in Denmark and Millenium Dance School in London.
