The Bat-Dor Dance Company which knew better days, suffered from artistic and economic difficulties, for the past fifteen years, that worsened after the death of the Baroness in 1999 which privately funded the company.

Jeannette Ordman, her long life confidant – and Bat-Dor artistic director and formerly its sole étoile, to whom she shifted her alliance and financial support from “Batsheva“ company, shortly had after founding Bat-Dor – looked for public support but failed to comply with the required demands by the ministry of culture. Ordman invested her own funds trying to keep the company and its dance school a float and concurrently fought the government through the all the courts to no avail. Some of the best dancers in Israel grew at Bat-Dor studios but years of unfortunate artistic choices, made the company less and less relevant. Its demise was sad but inevitable.
