DTHG – 111 Years

The year 2018 will be a special year for the Deutsche Theatertechnische Gesellschaft (DTHG). Next to offering a number of newly developed seminars and workshops, e. g. for stage managers, the association will launch the safety certificate for theatre and event technicians developed as part of the Erasmus+ project “European Theatre Technicians Education” (ETTE) (http://stage-tech-edu.eu). In addition, DTHG will explore new topics including the possibilities of “Augmented Reality” features within the theatre sector.

However, alongside these forward-looking projects, ample time will be dedicated to looking back on the association’s history and long-standing tradition. Being one of the oldest professional associations in Germany, DTHG will celebrate its 111th anniversary in June 2018.

Its constituent meeting took place in Wiesbaden on June 17 and 18, 1907.
