With Schwanensee, the Tyrolean State Theatre ventures into classic ballet territory—and passes the test convincingly. The Innsbruck version by Stefan Späti and Marcel Leemann, who also choreographed it, remains largely true to the 1877 fairy tale, but sets its own accents with new characters, a stronger ensemble presence, and a happy ending. The Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck, under Gerrit Prießnitz, proves to be the driving force of the evening: Tchaikovsky's music sounds bold, colorful, and captivating.
