There’s hissing, thumping, gasping. And in the center of the room moves Rhys Dennis, infinitely slowly, he circles, he sways, he falls in the twilight. A twilight that lasts the entire three-quarters of an hour, and from which two more bodies gradually emerge, just as slowly, from behind, barely discernible, yet of an undeniable presence. Dennis, a British-Caribbean dancer and choreographer based in London and Brazil, explored rituals of collective mourning during his residency at K3 – Center for Choreography in Hamburg.
