Seven cameras film two people on stage wearing full-body suits covered in a multitude of tracking markers. Their movements are altered and multiplied in real time, then projected both in front of and behind the scene. This creates a virtual dance between human and avatar. We employ a whole range of different technologies in this production—some are relatively new, while others have been around for quite some time. We use a motion-capture system on stage; that technology has existed for a few decades.
