Awards
The winners of the Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (RIDCC) are: Adam Khazhmuradov who impressed
the jury with his creation Attempts Left and took home the
prestigious grand prize: the XL Production Award, an impressive
production budget valued at 100 000 Euro. PeopleWatching
(Sabine Van Rensburg & Natasha Patterson) with Mother May I,
take home this year’s Audience Award, consisting of the donations collected at the final. This year the audience managed to collect 1500 Euro to support their favourite duet of
the night. RIDCC’s partners presented their Partner Awards to
cultivate new work and support their artistic development. All

Calls for Application
The tanz + theater machen stark program, run by the Federal Association of Independent Performing Arts, initiates local alliances—comprising at least three partners—that target disadvantaged children and young people through theatre education projects. Application deadline: 15 October;
Stiftung TANZ awards grants to dance professionals transitioning to a new career following their active dance careers. Applications may be submitted for one-off funding to cover expenses such as course or tuition fees, travel costs, or childcare during training. Next application deadline: 30 October.
K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg is offering three eight-month residencies to emerging choreographers. Residency period:

MOVIDA is a three-year EU project (1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029) that utilizes AI and related technologies
such as Virtual Intelligence, VR/AR and Embodied AI to build capacity for artists, foster audience engagement, and improve accessibility. Starting in December 2026, four nine-day labs will take place in Romania, Estonia, Portugal, and Germany. 16 multidisciplinary dance-and-technology duos are being sought.

The Kunststiftung NRW is offering a residency grant in the field of performing arts in Istanbul. The aim is to get to know the local art scene, establish contacts, experiment with transdisciplinary working methods, exchange ideas, and incorporate these new impulses into the artists' respective working contexts in North Rhine-Westphalia upon their return. There is no age limit for this call for applications. It is aimed at professional dance and theater practitioners based in
North Rhine-Westphalia who have already gained public recognition. Application deadline: 30 September;
Tanzhaus Zürich is looking for two to five collaborators (individual artists or groups) interested in collaborating with us

As part of its support for dance and theater, the City of Zurich is inviting applications for the biennial concept funding grant for the independent performing arts scene. Submission deadline: 15 October;
For the next Swiss Dance Days, taking place in Geneva from 2 to 5 February 2028, applications are open for productions that have been or will be performed between 1 August 2025 and 30 June 2027, and for which a video recording exists.

Further Education
The EUROLAB Certificate Program in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies (LBMS) is a further education program with a total of four years training in two steps: first two years in the Basic level (starting in April 2027) and then two years
in the Advanced level. Each level finishes with a certificate, which is awarded by EUROLAB.

Inclusion
Summer Dance Week in Amsterdam, a vibrant week full of

Choreographer Silke Z. (dance scholar), Lea Spahn, and kubia—the Competence Center for Cultural Education in Old Age and Inclusive Culture—have published an online dossier on dance geragogy. It offers dance educators methodological ideas, video tutorials, academic materials, and podcasts.
It will be presented during the online event "Dance and Age(ing) – Methodological Dossier on Dance

Claiming Common Spaces, festival of the Alliance of International Production Houses, Düsseldorf.
The program of the eighth edition—held under the motto "Shift the Vibe"—uses performances, dance, lectures, discussions, and encounters to encourage people to take change into their own hands and not lose faith in the scope for political action.
