Hofesh Shechter
Everyone calls him “Hofesh” — casually, intimately, as if he were already part of the global first-name pantheon of dance. And indeed, the British-Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter is well on his way to becoming a household name, much like “Pina” once did: no surname needed, just presence. His work is instantly recognizable — raw, rhythmic, visceral, often pulsing with a kind of tribal urgency that transcends narrative.
Now, Shechter has arrived at one of the most prestigious stages in the world: the Paris Opera Ballet. It’s a significant moment, both for him and for the venerable institution, known more for its classical lineage than for politically charged, percussion-heavy contemporary dance. In his new piece, Red Carpet, Shechter brings his signature energy, merging tension and elegance, primal force and formal precision. We take a close look at what happens when his explosive choreographic language meets the refined bodies of the Opéra’s étoiles.

Constanza Macras
Constanza Macras has long been established as one of the most vital and influential voices in Berlin’s dance theatre landscape. Born in Argentina and trained in dance, theatre, and fashion, she has spent over two decades crafting genre-defying works that fuse movement, pop culture, film, and pointed social commentary. With her company Dorky Park, founded in 2003, Macras has created a distinctive choreographic language that is as wild as it is intelligent — unafraid of chaos, satire, or vulnerability. For 23 years now, she has been expanding the boundaries of what contemporary performance can be: political and poetic, unruly and deeply human. We take a closer look at this uncompromising artist and her ongoing artistic evolution.
