Since its founding in 1959, Nederlands Dans Theater—or NDT—has been the primary driving force behind the evolution of Dutch dance. It has always been led by renowned figures such as Jiří Kylián and Paul Lightfoot—what is your focus?
Over the past six years, as Artistic Director of Nederlands Dans Theater, I’ve been rethinking what this company is and how it evolves while staying connected to its origins. NDT has always embodied a spirit of innovation shaped by risk-taking and choreographic inquiry. My role is to carry that forward as a living force, continually reactivated by each new generation of artists.
