The festival Johann Strauss 2025 Wien marks the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth, offering a new premiere every single week of the year. Among them is MUSIQUE – In the Spirit of Johann Strauss. The missing step, a collaboration with ImPulsTanz by choreographer Mathilde Monnier and composer Judit Varga. As the title suggests, the feeling of embracing something airy and mostly absent guides one through the experience of the work. Varga is live on stage behind one of two grand pianos, the second being an autonomously playing programmable instrument with which she carries out her intricate musical dialogue.
