The Norwegian National Ballet in Oslo is dedicating a festival to Jiří Kylián

Insisting on getting things his own way? No, that wouldn't be Jiří Kylián's spirit. But immersing himself in another existence is something he could imagine. In connection with his installation Moving Still, the long-time director of the Nederlands Dans Theater speaks of being and non-being. He asked eight former dancers to pause for a few minutes of their lives — in a moment determined by him, while a 3D scanner scans their naked bodies inch by inch. Printed and reworked, their avatars serve not only as temporary eye-catchers on the glass front of the Oslo Opera House. The snow-white sculptures give visible meaning to the here and the beyond, to stillness and movement.
