Will the evening—developed through a collaborative process and premiered in close succession, first in Koblenz and then in Ulm—live up to the reputation it has successfully cultivated in the media as an extraordinary experiment? This question accompanied me, at least in my thoughts, on my visit to Ulm; yet it remains unanswered—leaning, perhaps, toward a tentative "yes and no."
