In Prague, Mauro Bigonzetti's Scheherazade seeks revenge rather than reconciliation
Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti is already an item on the repertoire of the Czech National Ballet in Prague, which is currently presenting his third production, this time in a world premiere prepared especially for the ensemble. The author found an inspiration in the fable of Scheherazade, and especially in Rimsky-Korsakov’s music. However, in addition to the famous early 20th century symphonic suite, the choreographer composed the entire prologue to Rimsky-Korsakov’s Sinfonietta on Russian Themes.
