Voices
Among the performing arts, dance is probably the one that fits most easily into the visual arts context — dance performances, for example, regularly take place in galleries and museums. But the French artist Philippe Parreno goes further; he has made this proximity his trademark during exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Kunsthalle Zürich. For Munich's Haus der Kunst, Parreno has designed Voices, an exhibition visit in the spirit of choreography, which creates contexts between the works of art.
Running until 25 May, the exhibition consists of a hubbub of voices guiding visitors through the museum's rooms; a data exchange between Munich and a desert landscape near Almería, Andalusia, which influences the presentation; and a performance by Tino Sehgal in which dancers and singers interact with the exhibits. For Voices, the museum collaborates with the AI company ElevenLabs, a global leader in innovative speech synthesis technology.
