Letters, including the writing and receiving of them, as the content of a ballet evening? It didn't quite work at the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg. How can emotions, moods, and convictions be translated into movement? In Dominique Dumais's choreography, 13 ensemble members attempt to convey personal involvement or feelings through their bodies, stretches, turns, jumps, runs, rolls, and every conceivable tool in a wide variety of constellations. Part 1 features selected excerpts from letters, spoken by members of the acting ensemble, underscored by Davidson Jaco's sound design and accompanied by the outstanding jazz pianist Rainer Böhm, partly with improvisations.
