For eight years, Eyal Dadon led the dance company at the House of Dance in Be'er Sheva, Israel. In 2024, the artistic director, Dedi Alufer, was looking for a new dance director. For a month, he met with Shahar Binyamini several times a week: "Each time, we talked for a good three hours. When a month was over, I knew: He's the right person to lead the company." Alufer hired the young dancer and choreographer, whose artistic development was unmistakably shaped at the Batsheva school from 2006 to 2013. Binyamini not only danced for Ohad Naharin, he was also his assistant, and he had worked with Sharon Eyal for a long time—Alufer was, of course, aware of this background.
