What an idea. In 1977, Reinhild Hoffmann sat down on a sofa and couldn't really get away from it. Anyone who thinks of the dancer and choreographer will immediately remember her Solo mit Sofa. She is wearing an extremely elegant evening gown, the train of which is inextricably linked to the piece of furniture—the object of her desire. The artist does get comfortable on the sofa. However, as soon as she tries to move away, the fabric prevents her from escaping. It limits her range of action and simultaneously challenges her to overcome it: an interplay between resistance and risk that can be interpreted in many different ways.
