After suffering from encephalitis, the dancer Marina Abib is fighting for every movement
“An artist on the road to recovery,” is how Brazilian dancer, educator, and cultural mediator Marina Abib describes herself. For three decades, she toured the stages of Europe and Brazil, then her body could no longer keep up with the rhythm. She became seriously ill, was in a coma for a time, and to this day has limited mobility from the pelvis down. Nevertheless, dancing remains her “life force”. On her Instagram account, she documents her well-being and the steps toward recovery.
