After 50 years, hip-hop has to grow up, says Robozee—alias Christian Zacharas—one of Germany’s leading hip-hop choreographers. His work has always balanced raw street energy with a philosophical undertone, exploring what happens when a culture built on rebellion reaches middle age. With his new piece Blossom & Decay at TANZ_KASSEL, Robozee reflects on transformation, loss, and rebirth—both personal and collective.
Known for his precise popping style and deep understanding of rhythm, Robozee has evolved from a street performer to a dance philosopher. His work doesn’t merely celebrate hip-hop as entertainment, but examines it as a living archive of movement, emotion, and cultural resistance. Blossom & Decay asks: What remains when the shine fades, when youth gives way to experience? Can we still dance our way through endings?
