Jason Reilly: Not Your Average Prince
An extraordinary dancer, an extraordinary portrait: Jason Reilly has been a principal dancer with the Stuttgart Ballet since 2003; in 2023, he was named "Dancer of the Year" by tanz—and, thanks in part to the company’s resident "physio-magician" Matthias Knop, he remains a major draw. The Canadian has overcome herniated discs, crushed vertebrae, and all manner of ailments. He has also navigated his personal separation from fellow dancer Anna Osadcenko; naturally, their young daughter wants to follow in her parents' balletic footsteps. Then there is his best friend Eric Gauthier, the company’s grande dame Marcia Haydée, and her successor as director, Reid Anderson—the man who discovered Reilly and dryly notes that his "sex appeal" certainly doesn't hurt.
