Verena Billinger and Sebastian Schulz have long been active in both Düsseldorf and Frankfurt—at the FFT and, more recently, at the Naxos production center, a former machine hall. While the space was originally used by the Theater Willy Praml, it now welcomes a wide range of artistic disciplines. Funds are scarce, however, even though there is no shortage of needs and ideas. A new addition is the mobile dance floor in the hall; this allows Billinger and Schulz to stage their piece Love on a kind of island—surrounded by the audience and plenty of open space—rather than having to retreat to a side stage, as they did for their exploration of masculinity, Die Dunkelheit (2024).
