Dancing in a museum has always been a good fit for Carolyn Carlson—she knows how to handle spaces, making them newly tangible through the presence of dancers. At the Musée d'Orsay, she places singers, dancers, and herself on two stages in the central hall, alternating between them, to express a considerable amount of "rage". Rage is a duo for Sara Orselli and Juha Marsalo, dedicated to the "tyrants of power," but also a hymn to the rage and courage of life. The Finnish men's choir Mieskuoro Huutajat quickly takes the stage, 26 screaming singers who, full of rage and power, but sometimes also in dreamy whispers, explode their scores, distorting their faces as if they were bringing 19th-century caricatures to life.
