Between Prokofiev and social distortion, Sabrina Sadowska illuminates Chemnitz

Chemnitz is currently a European Capital of Culture. Naturally, it takes some patience to get an appointment for a conversation with Sabrina Sadowska: as director of the Chemnitz Ballet, she is heavily involved in the Capital of Culture program in addition to her regular theater operations. Shortly after the summer break, a window of opportunity for a meeting opened up. Sadowska was already in the midst of revival rehearsals for her Cinderella production: The choreographer has transported Prokofiev's narrative ballet from the fairytale realm of Romanticism to the setting of the 1950s and the world of haute couture.
