At the end of the new triple bill Bonachela / Lake / Montero, the hall erupts. Two groundbreaking representatives of the Australian dance scene are presenting their own works at the Nuremberg Opera House for the first time. Spanish-born Rafael Bonachela kicks things off with Lux Tenebris. The 35-minute, unpredictable interplay between darkness and light is the visual highlight of his highly dynamic, fast-paced work. At the end of the evening, the world premiere of Artefact, by Stephanie Lake, with its strong ensemble and structure, provides a first-class finale. The enthusiasm of the Nuremberg audience for Lake's light-hearted piece, which continually intensifies until it becomes a cheerfully staged picture of the hustle and bustle of the big city, could not have been greater.
