Jocasta‘s Line, Antigone and Lucinda Childs
Screening
Jocasta’s Line
Sophocles provided the source material, Igor Stravinsky the score, and Sir Wayne McGregor, together with the Norwegian National Ballet in Oslo, created a unique version of the Oedipus tragedy: Jocasta's Line, premiered last autumn, captivates as a “Gesamtkunstwerk”, a total work of art. Born from the spirit of collective effort, the vocal, dance, and orchestral departments appear as equals. Graphic precision dominates the visuals, meticulously calculated choreography the stage, and while the piece has already finished its run at the opera house, it can be viewed on the Opera-Vision website until 21 May;
