Omelas is paradise. Good weather, beautiful music, neat houses everywhere. But above all: no work to do. To upbeat music, the residents dance through the futuristic city, a life of harmony and tranquility. Which, of course, comes at a price: One person must be ostracized from the community so that the others can have peace and quiet. No one is allowed to communicate with the outcast, no one is allowed to have contact, otherwise the order will break down, and the chic single-family homes will collapse. Or so they say.
