Warm-Up

Welcome Aboard

A new chapter for global dance dialogue — in motion, in English, in depth!

English gets you by almost everywhere. In any case, the dance community communicates in English across the continents —except for the French Ballet terminology, of course. While notable dance publications in Australia, the UK and the U.S. have shared a common language, journalists in Europe largely write in their national languages. Until now, tanz appeared exclusively in German. This seems no longer timely.

Therefore we — the Theaterverlag Friedrich Berlin GmbH publishing house — are now taking the digital step into the global dance landscape.

We are delighted to welcome you to this edition which we hope will intrigue your curiosity about all facets related to dance — from its widely varied aesthetics to the economical, social, practical and health-related aspects of the art form.

We want to broaden horizons, for our readers as well as for ourselves. What can be found in the printed form of tanz is now also represented in English on the global internet stage:

visually opulent, neatly edited content along with moving images, covering all our sections, features and listings and just as informative, sophisticated, and diverse as has always been our concern.

We are looking forward to lots of subscribers and ample feedback, hoping to make a productive contribution to a culture of understanding and communication, which we feel is vital in increasingly divisive times.

So, spread the word!

Yours, the editors of tanz
