It's over. Since 2020, Sofiia Stasiv and Denis Cvetković have formed the small dance ensemble at Theater der Jungen Welt in Leipzig and have created dance for young audiences, either separately, together, or in crossover productions with drama and puppetry. Even for a very young audience: with pieces like Wuchs and Wirbel, Wickel, Weich, they explicitly focused on the youngest target group, children from two years old.
Both studied contemporary dance, Stasiv in Linz, Cvetković in Zurich, and came to Theater der Jungen Welt for their first engagement at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Dramaturg Winnie Karnofka had just taken over the theater. She had already gained experience with dance for young audiences and wanted to establish this more firmly within her own company.
