A “Wunderkammer” is a Baroque museum presentation format, originating from the cabinet of curiosities: Art was collected alongside cult objects, natural objects alongside everyday culture; the defining characteristic was the extraordinary, the sensation. Reconstructed cabinets of curiosities still exist in Dresden and Vienna, among other places; visiting them is a unique experience because the presentation does not rely on analysis as in today's museums, but rather on wonder and awe.
Wonder and awe are also key concepts for the first full-length creation developed by artist-in-residence Marcos Morau at the Berlin State Ballet.
