In his “Memories of the Resistance”, the Catalan choreographer Pau Aran explores the struggle of homosexual people for visibility in society. Designed by Juan Sebastián Domínguez Morillo, the Werkstatt stage of the Pfalztheater features an old, two-part apothecary cabinet with many compartments. A young woman approaches it thoughtfully, mystically floating music creates a transcendent atmosphere between dream and reality, between yesterday and today. Individual drawers of the cabinet open and close slowly, hands reach out to her, holding documents. Gradually, the cabinet reveals people and their stories: The stage fills with dancers, whose costumes by Isabel Peña Mella place them in the 1960s to the 1990s.
