What happens to art when promised funds are withdrawn? Finnish choreographer Milla Koistinen, who lost funding in Finland after radical cuts in the cultural sector, decided to continue. Not least because her piece Sweat (anthem), created in collaboration with the Dance On Ensemble, addresses the theme of resilience, of resistance in times of crisis. The production will premiere at the co-producing Tanzfabrik Berlin stage in the Uferstudios.
Koistinen does not create harsh images of resistance, but rather viewers experience a gentle growth of strength from moments of stillness.
