Hardly any piece of music has been given as many different choreographic forms as Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps. In 2025 alone, Marco Goecke, Ralf Dörnen, and Annett Göhre delivered new interpretations, thus joining the illustrious circle of Sacre choreographers: Pina Bausch, Sasha Waltz, Maurice Béjart, Emanuel Gat ... and now also the chief choreographer of the Regensburg Theater, Wagner Moreira. One might provocatively ask: Hasn't Sacre slowly run its course? Moreira finds a clever answer to this with his two-part dance evening Sacre – Ein Rausch: He thematically juxtaposes the ideas of intoxication and sacrifice, thus finding a stimulating contemporary approach.
