The Legend of the Five Suns is a creation story from pre-colonial America: The gods supposedly created five suns one after the other, of which four were subsequently destroyed, causing humanity to become temporarily extinct. Currently, we live under the fifth sun, which is not supposed to be destroyed, but it brings forth other monsters. History is a continuous cycle of destruction and rebirth. Such stories are known from various regions, which also makes this one relevant for a European audience at the Kampnagel cultural center in Hamburg.
