There is one event that, more than any other, keeps the Roman audience up to date with the international scene: the Romaeuropa Festival. Along thirty editions, this cultural institution has established tight relationships with a wide range of major artists from all over Europe, to be put next to the highlights of Italian contemporary turmoil. That's why ricci/forte's new production, Darling, was taking off here.

The duo of directors/playwrights, Stefano Ricci and Gianni Forte, had exploded as a true phenomenon, able to drag back to theatre even those spectators usually fed only by super-classic pieces, providing a visually impressive performing language made out of strong Jan-Fabre-like body work, glamorously coloured sets, violent and provocative themes, post-modern madness and a touch of raving cyberpunk writing attitude. Hitting any prominent venue in Europe and abroad, the company has in fact been stating its own peculiar aesthetics. From Macadamia Nut Brittle to Imitationofdeath, stepping by Troia's Discount or Grimmless, the “ricci/forte phenomenon” was registered as problematic yet vital in the very beginning, ending up repeating itself as a code.
